·         Leashes must be six feet or less.

·         Dogs must walk by your side and be under your control at all times while moving to and from the parade site and while marching in the parade.

·         Don’t allow your dog to enter into another dog’s space.

·         Do not allow any other dogs to approach your dog.

·         One dog per adult.

·         Walkers who are near the curbs may allow spectators to pet their dog, but please don’t lag behind the group, stay together.

Human Attire:  All participants must wear a Pets Alive T Shirt and a St. Patrick’s Day Bandana (Bandanas will be given out on Sunday.)

(t shirt can be worn over another shirt, green if possible, or over a fleece or coat if the weather is cool).  Jeans, black or blue.

If it is raining, you may wear a poncho under your t shirt, or you may carry an umbrella.

Dog Attire – All dogs will wear a St. Patrick’s Day Bandana (Bandanas will be given out on Sunday.)

If desired, you may dress your dog appropriately.

·         Everyone who is picking up a Pets Alive dog must meet at the Kennel Building no later than 10:30 am to pick-up and get their dog ready.  We will be leaving the sanctuary no later than 11:45 am.

·         Everyone who is participating should meet in Goshen on the corner of Erie Street and Webster Ave no later than 12:45pm.    Please give yourself plenty of time to park and get to our meeting spot.

·         At 12:45 we will go as a group to the parking lot to find our assigned starting point.

·         According to the parade rules, no one is allowed to join the parade once it is underway.

Below are two documents from the parade organizersOne has the parade route and the rules.  Please read all the rules carefully.   The other is the line up -  Pets Alive is down near the end – they seem to have grouped most of the animals towards the end of the parade – the good news is it looks as though we are in front of the Llamas!.

34th MID-HUDSON ST. PATRICK`S DAY PARADE

Goshen, N. Y. March 14, 2010 * Line up 1:00pm  Step off  2:00pm .
PETS ALIVE - MUST ARRIVE BY 12:45

Dear Parade Participant 2010.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you in advance for taking part in this year’s St.

Patrick's Day Parade. The Line of March has been sent separately. Check the Division you will be

marching with as there will be markers up in the parking lot as to where you are to line up. Lineup

is from 1:00 - 1:30. The Parade will step off no later than 2:00 pm – at the Village request we are

going to make every effort to start at 1:45. Any units not ready by this time will be asked to go to

the rear of the Line of March. Below is the Parade route, which is a change from last year.

The Village of Goshen has been great in their support of our Parade. Please respect the

Village of Goshen's open container laws as they are strictly enforced. Also, the throwing of

anything to spectators from vehicles is strictly forbidden. Banners, placards, signs, etc. are

limited to identifying your group and/or appropriate for St. Patrick's Day. All Floats, vehicles, etc.

must have prior approval. Please do not allow anyone to join your group once the Parade has

commenced.

The Village of Goshen also requires that any group that has animals as part of it’s participation in the Parade must provide someone to clean up after their animals.

When marching, please pay attention to the group in front of you, if they slow down or

stop, please do the same so as to maintain spacing. We want to put all units on film but this is

not possible if units are too close together. Please limit your time at the Reviewing stand. Play

one tune or limit all dancing to no more than 2-3 minutes.

If you have any questions, please call me at (845) 294-8698. We are still working with Time Warner Ch 23 ( Middletown) to try and put the Parade on TV Tuesday, March 16th and Wednesday, March 17th at 7:00pm but they have not been cooperative and responded to our requests..

A DVD of the Parade as well as the Grand Marshal’s Brunch will be available for $20.00.

If you would like a copy, please email me at plahiff@hvc.rr,com or send a note to me at 61
